!Description
LaTeX is the world standard for specifying, typesetting, and communicating mathematics among scientists, engineers, and mathematicians.  For more information about LaTeX itself, visit the [[LaTeX Project|http://www.latex-project.org/]].  This plugin typesets math using [[jsMath|http://www.math.union.edu/~dpvc/jsMath/]], which is an implementation of the TeX math rules and typesetting in javascript, for your browser.  Notice the small button in the lower right corner which opens its control panel.
!Installation
In addition to this plugin, you must also [[install jsMath|http://www.math.union.edu/~dpvc/jsMath/download/jsMath.html]] on the same server as your TiddlyWiki html file.  If you're using TiddlyWiki without a web server, then the jsMath directory must be placed in the same location as the TiddlyWiki html file.

I also recommend modifying your StyleSheet use serif fonts that are slightly larger than normal, so that the math matches surrounding text, and \\small fonts are not unreadable (as in exponents and subscripts).

If you had used a previous version of [[Plugin: jsMath]], it is no longer necessary to edit the main tiddlywiki.html file to add the jsMath <script> tag.  [[Plugin: jsMath]] now uses ajax to load jsMath.

!! Notes from Flatland

Texas is flat. That's why I have time to write in this notebook. It's my third year in graduate school; it's an appropriate time to attempt to organize things. 

I'm [[Sean Downes]], and I study Gravitation, Supersymmetry and Particle Physics.

Specifically, I'm looking into AdS$_3$/CFT$_2$. We're submitting a paper called [[Chiral Supergravity | http://arxiv.org/abs/0906.4822]]. It's a Chern-Simons extended model of 3D gravity with a negative cosmological constant. It might have some useful embedding in string theory. At the very least its a cute model. It's a supersymmetric extension of the work of Li, Song and Strominger, denoted [[Chiral Gravity | http://arxiv.org/abs/0801.4566]].

Lately I've been looking in to Particle Physics. [[CP Violation]] has been directly observed, and is probably the reason for the matter-anti-matter asymmetry in our universe. To this end, I've been looking into [[Leptogenesis]]. It's an idea that an asymmetry between leptons and antileptons can transform into the observed asymmetry between baryons and antibaryons. Its a nice interplay between particle physics, supersymmetry and cosmology. Also, its nice to ask concrete questions about how we happen to exist.
