Experimental Condensed Matter Physics Research

Our group studies magnetic and electronic materials, using NMR spectroscopy, magnetic measurements, computational methods, and other techniques. This includes studies of emergent topological materials, advanced thermoelectric materials, and quantum effects in new semiconductors. In addition we are investigating new magnetic materials, including materials of interest for magnetocaloric applications.

Dedicated facilities include a solid state wide-line NMR spectrometer with 9T superconducting magnet, operating from 2 K to 550 K, and a number of sample preparation facilities and cryostats for transport and magnetization studies. We also use a wide range of advanced shared facilities at Texas A&M.
